Human And Dog Connection

Deciding when the time is right to say goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy, and every pet and family situation is different. Changes in your pet’s quality of life, such as ongoing pain, difficulty eating or moving, loss of enjoyment in daily activities, or more bad days than good, can all be signs that they may be struggling. Our team will always take the time to discuss your concerns honestly and compassionately, helping you make the decision that is best for your pet’s comfort and dignity. At Cherry Orchard Vets, we are here to support both you and your pet every step of the way — before, during, and after the euthanasia process — with understanding, care, and kindness.

After your pet has passed, they will be cared for by Millers of Wokingham, a compassionate and family-run pet crematorium dedicated to treating every pet with the utmost dignity and respect. Their caring and down-to-earth team understand how important your pet is and ensure they are looked after with kindness and sensitivity at every stage. Millers take great pride in providing a personal and respectful service, helping to give owners comfort and reassurance during a very difficult time.

After the loss of a beloved pet, deciding what to do next can feel overwhelming, and our team is here to help guide you through the options available. Many owners choose an individual cremation, where your pet’s ashes are returned to you, allowing you to keep them close in a special place. Others may prefer a communal cremation, where pets are cremated together and ashes are not returned. Some families also choose home burial, where appropriate and in accordance with local guidelines. Whatever decision feels right for you and your pet, we will support you with compassion, understanding, and care throughout the process.
